as part of the Fort at No. 4 Association’s Revolutionary War Weekend,
beginning Saturday, September 20th.

Rita was honored to take part in Pepperell’s celebration of their native daughter, Prudence Wright.

250 years ago, Prudence and her all-female militia bravely captured two Tory spies as they attempted to cross the Nashua River bridge in Pepperell.

As part of the commemoration, Rita performed her dramatic monologue as Prudence Wright—excerpted from her show Women of ’76—standing on the very bridge where history was made. Her performance was followed by a reenactment of the historic event, stirring poetry, and live 18th-century music.

This memorable occasion was part of Massachusetts’ statewide celebration marking the Battles of Lexington and Concord and the dawn of the American Revolution.

Rita presents Women of ’76 for Chelsea 250—part of Massachusetts’ statewide commemoration of the start of the American Revolution on April 19, 1775.

She performed to a full house at the Chelsea Public Library in March, captivating the audience with the powerful and often-forgotten stories of Revolutionary women. The response was so enthusiastic, the library is already planning to bring her back!
